Meet the Captain
Capt. Nick is a Maine native and passionate angler. At 24 Nick is one of the youngest captains on the Midcoast. He holds a USCG Captains license and a Maine Tidewater Guide’s license. For over a decade, Nick has worked as the first mate at Catch 22 Fishing Charters under his mentor Capt Russ Troy who has over 35 years experience fishing the region. When Nick wasn’t working on the boat, he was either fishing himself, taking out family and friends or working at the Tackle Shop in Portland.
Capt. Nick is passionate about both fly and light tackle fishing for striped bass. He has won the local Allpoint’s Fly Shop June striped bass tournament multiple times now. In 2022 Nick graduated from Bates College with a bachelors degree in environmental studies and in the off season he is a ski coach at Gould Academy. Nick’s extensive knowledge of the region, time on the water and passion for teaching others will ensure a great and safe trip.
About The Vessel
The Double Haul
This is an LTB 25, and is powered by a Mercury 400 V10 outboard and Minn Kota Terrova Trolling motor. This is the perfect type of vessel for what we do, fishing the rivers, beaches and nearshore waters of Maine. Its sturdy design and proven 24.5 degree deadrise will get you to and from the fishing grounds quickly and comfortably. With a 29ft L.O.A this boat fishes 4 comfortably and has the space to fish 2 fly casters at a time, with one in the bow and one in the stern. The boat is equipped with Simrad electronics and radar, as well as a Sea Keeper Ride system.
